Civil Litigation Support

We work closely with attorneys who represent catastrophically injured clients as a result of accidents involving motorcycles and commercial trucks.

Motorcycle Accidents

Motorcycles are the most vulnerable vehicles on the road. Motorcyclists are at a greater risk of death or severe injury than those in passenger vehicles despite the helmet laws enacted in many states. Even wearing full riding gear provides comparatively little protection when colliding with a motor vehicle, a curb, a roadway, or a guardrail.

Motorcyclists (especially sportbike riders) are often presumed to be at fault regardless of the accident facts because police officers frequently (and falsely) assume that the motorcyclist was speeding due to NO REASON OTHER THAN that the motorcyclist was operating a sportbike; the rider is automatically characterized as a reckless thrill-seeker. We have seen and fought this unsubstantiated bias by law enforcement investigators and insurance companies against motorcyclists many times before. Our firm has successfully conducted hundreds of motorcycle accident investigations, including having traffic collision reports amended at municipal (local police), county (sheriff’s office) and state (highway patrol or state police) levels.

It requires specific knowledge and experience to understand motorcycle dynamics and behavior because they are drastically different from cars, particularly where it concerns acceleration, braking, and turning. Our chief investigator, Lev Kandhorov, is well-versed in motorcycle accident investigation and is an expert-level motorcycle rider with 23 years of experience.

Trucking Accidents

Accidents involving large commercial trucks are far more likely to result in serious injury than regular car crashes. A commercial truck is a vehicle that weighs over 10,000 pounds, such as a semi-truck or a tractor-trailer. Commercial trucking is governed by federal and state regulations. There are specific nuances concerning a trucking accident investigation that must be explored including, but not limited to:

  • Driver training
  • Driver tiredness, inattentiveness, drug / alcohol use
  • Mandated log-keeping reflecting work / rest hours
  • Defective parts or improper vehicle maintenance
  • Overloaded trucks
  • Incorrectly secured cargo
  • Incorrect load distribution (transportation of fuel / liquids requires special containers and trailers)
  • Weather, visibility, and road conditions at the time of the accident
  • History of accidents on that particular section of roadway.

If you have been involved in an accident involving a commercial vehicle, our experienced investigators will work closely with your attorney and conduct a comprehensive investigation.
